It is not news that more people are beginning to leave full-time employment to either start their own businesses or take up more flexible freelance jobs.

The traditional professional path of rising to the top of a firm from the least is no longer the norm. Even firms now seek people to deliver services for them remotely in order to cut their running costs.

Also, millennials frequently view starting their own business, working for themselves, or freelancing as the new norm.

An evidence of this fact is the recent rise in the number of people moving to freelance roles and the number of remote jobs being created.

Over 50 million Americans, or almost 34% of the workforce, choose to work independently, and similar statistics are evident in several other countries, especially here in Nigeria.

As more individuals become aware of the independence that owning their own business or being solopreneurs offers, it will only continue to rise.

After working a 9-5 for 2 years myself, Oh! actually 7-5, I saw this same opportunity and decided to explore it while still in my full-time role.

After being able to offer my service on a freelance basis even as a full-time employee, I tasted the honey in freelancing and entrepreneurship, hence I had to leave to finally build something meaningful for myself.
